Ah man I love this topic. I've started asking people what they're interested in instead of what they do. Way more interested in passion over how people make money (unless you've stuck gold and you're passionate about what you do for a living!)
When I worked in Hollywood, I never asked that question because I never wanted to answer it (I worked for some well-known people, and that always changed the dynamic for some odd reason). The other day, I had to ask a friend who I've known for years what she did exactly. Of course, we talked about work and I knew her field, but not her title/speciality because that's how much I can't stand that question! LOL. There really are other things to talk about. And I'll have to check out EBTG's latest. Thanks! xo

That's a great way to reframe the question, Alexa. Have you found it yield more interesting responses and deeper connections?
Sometimes! People often jump right into what they do for a living regardless, out of habit.
Liked that no one knows your a dog on the internet cartoon.
It's a good one (and a classic!).
