Have you ever had a day like today? The rays of sunlight ☀ were so bright streaming through the window this morning that I had to close the shades during a Zoom meeting. A short while later, the rain 🌧 and wind was coming so fast and furious it felt like a film noir scene. Perhaps you’ve seen the news of atmospheric rivers and even a bomb cyclone pummeling the west coast. It’s a thing—and expected to continue for a few days according to the NWS.
This afternoon, the rain stopped and the clouds lightened and tempted me. I dashed out for quick walk around the block. The fresh air was refreshing. The temperature, surprisingly mild. The podcast, engaging.
Moments after I returned inside, the sky turned dark once more and the rain came down hard.
…
It may seem all sunshine and rainbows until one day suddenly it’s not. Multiple people I know—people I have known for years—have recently shared heart wrenching stories of loss.
Life is uncertain. None of us really knows how long we have.
Tell people what they mean to you. Pay attention to how you feel. Seize the little moments. Live for legacy. Minimize regrets.
I called a coworker today. Texted a friend. Visited a family member.
Moments matter.
Until next time,
