The sun is rising on a new year. Are you ready for whatβs ahead?
Next week, everyone will be back β clients, coworkers, classmates β and life will get busier again.
This weekend is a great time to pause, to reflect on the year thatβs just ended, and begin to make plans for the year ahead.
Here are four questions you may find helpful to consider:
Reflecting on 2024 β¬
What did I accomplish last year?
What had I hoped to do (that I havenβt yet accomplished)?
What brought me joy last year?
What do I want to remember from 2024?
When you are ready, say goodbye to 2024 (capturing whatever you want to remember first) and open yourself up to 2025.
Here are four similar questions you may find helpful to consider:
Embracing 2025 β‘
What would I like to accomplish this year?
Where do I need help?
Who or what do I want to invest more time in?
What is something I am looking forward to or excited about?
Check In: Roles
You may also find it helpful to take some time to inventory all of the roles you have in your life and assess how well you are showing up/performing in each. I did this on New Yearβs Day, found it enlightening and am already course-correcting based on it, and suspect it may become a new annual tradition.
If youβd like to do a personal check in, too, hereβs a link to the exercise1:
Midpoint
In one of my last meetings in 2024, I remarked that 2025 was the midpoint of the decade. While true, hearing it seemed to freak people out. We are now as close to 2030 as the beginnings of the pandemic in 2020.
Will 2025 be a speedbump or are we picking up speed?
While there are many concerning developments in the world around us, I continue to believe that our best days are ahead of us.
Things are looking up in 2025.
How will you seize your 2025?
π΅ Media Embed: Zoo Station by U2
As I was about to send you this issue, a lyric and a beat popped into my head and it is this weekβs media embed. Zoo Station was the opening track on U2βs Achtung Baby album, released in 1991. Itβs also how U2 opened its U2:UV concert at The Sphere in 2023.

? Perfect for when youβre driving, cooking or walking the dog. Hereβs how.If you do it, drawing an octagon with 8 roles is much easier than 7 (as I found out). Using a 6β ruler works well on A4 or letter size paper. Simply draw a plus and then divide each quarter in half and draw lines around the outside to connect each pie wedge.
