You may have noticed: I didn’t write yesterday. I intended to. I even thought about what I might say.
But come evening (when I typically sit down to write), I realized I needed to be present with my partner. Then my body signaled it was tired. In my head, I debated what to do. I didn’t want to admit defeat so soon — I had hoped to write daily for the first month to really establish the ritual. And, while I deeply appreciate each of you who have chosen to join me on this journey, I also knew what I needed to do.
I connected with my partner. And then I got some sleep.
The lesson in this is to be flexible:
Be graceful with yourself. If you’re tired, listen to your body.
