For the last two weeks, we’ve focused on a simple exercise to check in and calibrate our lives. If you haven’t had an opportunity to do it yet, here it is once more:
And if you have, how did you find it? Did you lean into different parts of your life this week more? Were you more intentional?
I evaluated how I showed up this week across each role and compared it against last week. Already, I can sense a little improvement in three areas. Because I had last week’s in Excel I was able to quickly plot this week’s ratings and see the change. I hadn’t planned on doing this but found it interesting and am now thinking I may do this for a while to see trends. If you’re a data or visual person, you might find doing so helpful, too.1
If you’re not yet a subscriber or supporter, you can become one here:
Last week, I wrote “Look for opportunities to show up. Be helpful. Surprise and delight.”
This week, I’d like to introduce you to an incredible story that exemplifies this.

My advice? Find a reason to be here that’s bigger than you.

Recently, I was invited to see a movie. I didn’t know anything about it; I hadn’t even seen the trailer. But it turned out to be the best movie I’ve seen this year — and I highly encourage you to see it.
Here is the basic plot:
Based on a remarkable true story, ORDINARY ANGELS centers on Sharon Steves (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed Schmitt (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels. (source)
Life is about saying yes and then figuring out how.

👉Watch the trailer
Here is the trailer (2m24s). It is heartwarming, funny, and moving. If you don’t typically pause to watch embedded media, please do today. You won’t regret it. I haven’t done a media embed for a while and genuinely believe in the power of this story.
Ordinary Angels is an inspiring movie. It’s also based on an incredible true story. Go see it.
And, if you’ve seen it, I encourage you to share your impressions with others in the comments.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Be well,
-Bryce
PS: As I continue to calibrate, I will be taking a week off each quarter to ensure
remains sustainable for you and for me. Thus, there will not be a new issue next week. My next new issue will be March 23. Thanks for understanding. :)If you’d like to use the template I created, send me an email.
Thanks for the recommendation Bryce, the trailer looks good.
